CALLING ALL QUEENS

Evil queens, that is...

Well, it's that time of the year again! The Annual Evil Queen Brunch is right around the corner, one of the few events you actually look forward to attending. All storybook evil queens attend to discuss their sinister plans for the upcoming year. Who they'll capture, potions they'll concoct, kingdoms they'll conquer and spells they'll cast are all topics of conversation to be discussed over spoonfuls of hashbrowns, bacon strips and pitchers of Bloody Marys. Mingling with the most mischievous characters of all time is a great way to inspire your own evil plans.

Of course, the affair calls for everyone to look their best. Those with horns will make sure they're perfectly polished, all scepters will be squeaky clean and every crown will sparkle and shine in the sunlight, in the most ominous way, of course. At the event, new ensembles are debuted and this year, you'll look divine since you'll be in the ravishing Queen of Hearts plus size costume.  It's inevitable the best-dressed award presented at the end of the evening will go to you, but watch your back. Many evil queens are vying for the prize, but this year you'll get your happily ever after.

DESIGN & DETAILS

The high-quality plus size Made By Us Costume is sinisterly stylish. The full-length gown features a checkered skirt complemented by layers of black and red tulle fabric. The bodice is equally ornate, reinforcing your nobility. The puffy sleeves are accented by long mesh sleeves and a checkered high-collar. The tiny gold crown is fastened to a headband, ensuring it'll stay on your head throughout the evening. Finally, the black choker is included to finish the royal look.

SLAY QUEEN

In the mirror, rehearse your most persnickety face and Annual Evil Queen Brunch domination will be all yours. Better luck next year, other less-sinisterly-stylish queens.

Questions & Answers

Q: Purchased this costume for nursing home Halloween contest. I am unsure of how to put the hoop in the skirt. I can not seem to find an open area that it would slide in. Can someone please advise me on how to get the hoop in place. (1 Answer)

The plastic hoop threads through the hemline of the dress, so look for a channel or casing sewn into the very bottom edge of the skirt. You should be able to find a small opening in that hem where the hoop slides in, then work it all the way around until the ends meet to give the skirt its full shape.

Q: I'm feeling the hemline of the dress and I can't find the opening for the hoop. Is it at the bottom or at the waist (1 Answer)

The hoop threads through the hemline at the bottom of the dress. Keep feeling along that lower edge and you should find the opening where the plastic hoop slides in.

Q: Hi! why does the hoop make an 8 on each side? the dress does not stay on the ground, it goes up on each side thank you! (1 Answer)

The figure-eight shape is actually how the hoop is designed to work! When the plastic hoop threads through the hemline, it creates that curved shape on each side, which lifts the skirt up and out to give it that dramatic, voluminous silhouette rather than hanging straight to the ground. That lifted, panniers-style look is the intended effect for this Queen of Hearts style.

Q: Hi purchased the queen of hearts costume which is amazing fit and quality but how do I thread the hoop through the hem is there holes or do I create my own many thanks (1 Answer)
Asked by Nicola | 8 October 2024
Monster Responds...
The hoop is designed to thread directly through the hemline of the dress, so there are pre-made openings already built into the hem for it. No need to create your own holes! Just work the hoop through the channel at the hem and it should guide itself around to give the skirt that full, dramatic shape.
