Questions & Answers
Q: I bought this last year and did not realize it needed a step pad to work. It does not activate with sound. The only way we get it to work is to turn it off and back on manually. Very disappointing. Do you sell the step pad? Thank you.

Monster Responds...
The mummy does have a step pad setting, and we're sorry to hear it hasn't been working the way you hoped. Unfortunately, we don't sell the step pad separately. The sound activation setting may be worth trying again with fresh batteries, since the figure requires 3 AA batteries and low power can affect the sensor's sensitivity.

Q: Is there a steady on option? Or only sound activation?
(1 Answer)
Asked by Cheryl G | 1 September 2026
Monster Responds...
The switch has two active settings: sound activation and a step pad mode, with no steady-on option. The center position on the switch activates the step pad, the ON setting triggers sound activation, and OFF disables both.

Q: How is activated, by sound, movement or touch/pad?
(1 Answer)
Asked by Ryan | 21 July 2026
Monster Responds...
This mummy has two activation options. The ON setting is sound activated, and the center position activates a step pad, so you can choose whichever works best for your setup.

Q: Is he for outdoor use? Does he come with ground stakes for outdoor use?
(1 Answer)
Asked by Anonymous | 3 September 2024
Monster Responds...
Hello, we recommend that you keep this mummy prop out of the rain and he does not come with ground stakes.
Q: Can the sound be turned off during the action?
(1 Answer)
Asked by wangchaoxe | 23 August 2024
Monster Responds...
Yes, the OFF setting disables both the motion and sound completely. The middle position activates the step pad, and the ON setting is sound activated, triggering the eyes, head movement, arm movement, and moaning all at once.

Q: Is this battery operated?
(1 Answer)
Asked by Chris | 13 August 2024
Monster Responds...
Yes, this mummy runs on 3 AA batteries, which aren't included. Once powered up, you can set it to sound-activated mode or use the step pad to trigger the light-up eyes, moving head, moving arms, and moaning sounds.

Q: Can this be used outside? And if it rains, is that OK?
(1 Answer)
Asked by TJ | 8 August 2024
Monster Responds...
This mummy is designed as an indoor decoration, and rain would be a real concern since it runs on batteries and has electronic components that light up, move, and make sound. Keeping it dry and sheltered will protect both the electronics and the cheesecloth fabric draped over the frame.

Q: how wide is it?, and can it be out in the weather?.
(1 Answer)
Asked by Greg | 29 July 2024
Monster Responds...
The arm span reaches up to 42 inches wide, depending on how you pose the foam-covered wire arms. As for outdoor use, the materials include molded plastic, cheesecloth fabric, and foam, so this one is best kept in a covered or sheltered spot rather than left out in rain or direct weather.

Q: Can this be left outside we live in the northeast and the weather isn't warm or dry during October
(1 Answer)
Asked by Nancy | 29 June 2024
Monster Responds...
This mummy is designed for indoor use. The molded plastic head and frame are paired with tattered cheesecloth fabric and foam-covered wire arms, and none of those materials are built to handle rain, cold, or prolonged moisture. The battery compartment is also not weatherproofed, so northeast October conditions would put both the electronics and the fabric at real risk.
