This costume inflates by a fan in the right back side that pushes air through the sealed jumpsuit, so inflation depends on the suit being fully closed and airtight rather than on standing or moving. The one thing to watch is the ankle elastic: our copy specifically notes that the elastic needs to be snug around the ankles for the costume to fully inflate, so if the ankles are tucked or compressed against the wheelchair, that seal may be harder to achieve.
