Your order from start to finish

To you it’s simple, you browse fancydress.com and after a few clicks your order is placed! Then you just sit there waiting for Mr (or Mrs) Postman to deliver your fancy dress items. However, there is an awful lot of effort going on behind the scenes and we thought you would like to take a sneaky peek!

	It all starts way before you place your order, we go to various buying fairs all over the world, we also have contacts with manufacturers that we visit and find out what is going to be the next hot thing; we place our orders and wait for their delivery. These come into our warehouse and are counted and checked for quality.
	You then see the items on fancydress.com and after a few clicks they are in your virtual basket, you pay for them and we take over from there.
	We print off your orders as they arrive, giving special priority to customers choosing our Express Service. Because our warehouse is so large we split the orders up into different sections – depending on what you want today!
	One of team then takes a handful of orders and they work around the warehouse, if we have a costume in small, medium and large we put them in different areas of storage, so that our staff do not mistakenly select the wrong size.
	Next the first check happens here the goods are matched against separate orders and then passed along the process where they will be checked a total of three times before they leave us!
	Your order is then double-checked by another member of staff, they take the paperwork and its unique barcode is scanned, our system calls up the order and then as each item is scanned it lets us know if we can proceed or not. Our system rings alarms if there are missing or incorrect items. If there is a problem with anything that you have ordered our customer services team takes over and will contact you.
	Triple checking happens as your box is packed, your delivery note is printed at this stage and the goods are then given a final check over.
	Once the package is sealed it is stacked onto trolleys, along with all the other orders of the day and wheeled away to our covered dispatch area.
	Finally your goods leave us, we use a variety of carriers depending on where you are located and the size of your order.
	The postman delivers....
