Panto Season is here, Oh No It's Not, Oh YES IT IS!
So Christmas is speeding towards us faster than the tie and socks combo from the mother-in-law will be going back to the shops after it has all died down. Christmas can be such a drag!.... Especially now that it is Panto season, Oh no it isn’t, OH YES IT FLIPPIN' WELL IS!

All around the world people look at our Pantomime traditions scratch their heads and think how lovely their weather is. But to us this ‘Carry-on’ for the Theatre is part of our history easily traced to the 16th century and then back into the mists of time.
It is all about turning expectations on their heads, so naturally that extends to the casting. Firstly you have to have guys in frocks. You either go for the delicately created Danny La Rue or if you are like us you follow in the footsteps of Les Dawson! Either way dressing up in women's clothing does not have to be a drag.

Then you have a handsome prince, sometimes played by a woman (called a principal boy!?). No wonder folks that have not grown up with this cannot work out what is going on.
Finally girls, there is one thing that you need to remember about panto (and about life). You have to kiss a hell of a lot of frogs before one of them turns into a Prince. Pucker up girls
