With weddings (Royal and otherwise) very much on our mind there is no better time to take a brief look at the topic of Hens and Stags!
The Germans have Polterabend, in the US it's Bachelorette and Bachelor parties and here we have Hen and Stag – but have you heard of a HAG DO? This is a combined event where the Stag and Hen attend the same event!
All of these events are an earthy celebration of the Bride or Groom’s last days of independence. Often the celebrations include a healthy dose of rudeness, some ritual humiliation and lots of drinking – most of the time in fancy dress.
