Start off by sticking a few Coco Pops on the side of the nose, you could use Rice Krispies, but they will need making up; these are already dark and smell nice. If you stick then in a cluster they will eventually look like a crusty wound.

Rip up tissues and stick then in patches on the face, you can use as much or as little as you like, think ahead; how much of the face do you think you will be covering with bandages? You could practice the bandaging before you start to give you a better idea. Once the tissue has dried out and is stuck in place you can start adding colour. We have used two shades of green here, but you could use browns or brown and black. Using the back of your hand as a palette you can apply the light and dark green separately or mix them to make a third green. Roughly cover the tissue, leaving some areas white. Also colour the skin in these areas.

Let the make up dry and then slide the end of the tool under the tissue to form a little pocket (top image left). Slide the dropper of our blood bottle into the top of this pocket and fill it up with blood, this will eventually find a way out the bottom (bottom image left); the blood will also soak through the paper; giving a different texture and finish than just adding blood to the surface.

Bandages: we have brought some crepe bandages and made a strong pot of tea, dip the bandages into the tea to stain them. Hang them up to dry totally (you will need to do this the day before).
Bandage the head, how much of the face you cover is up to you.
Add blood to the bandages and continue to build up the blood under and over the tissue paper.

This is an optional extra step. We have taken a condom, opened it up and cut off both ends, if you cut off a section you will end up with a floppy flap that once made up looks like a disgusting flap of skin. Tuck the condom pieces in under the bandages.

To make up the skin flaps we have mixed together a little moisturiser, some blood and some Vaseline. Just like the green make up we have not mixed them well, this gives variation in texture and colour, it looks disgusting, but then that is the point!
We have also used the blood as an adhesive to the right of our models mouth. Once you have added a thick layer of blood crush up some Coco Pops and stick them to the sticky surface of the blood, this looks like a massive scabby area.

FINISHED
To remove unwind the bandages, work on the glued areas with the spirit gum remover. Once everything is loosened wash the face thoroughly with soap and water. Have another go if there are any areas that have bits of glue remaining and wash again.
