Vampire Guidelines

This is our tribute to the incredibly popular (and stunningly good looking) vampires from Twilight!  Last Halloween this was a very popular look and we were constantly asked for guidance.

The look is simple but effective, you can use a costume if you wanted to take this look a little further but we have kept it simple with a t-shirt.

1 Apply old age cake
Our model had her normal make up on to start with.  No problem she just applied Old Age Cake make up over the top.  You could apply this evenly - we liked the patchy effect, the choice is yours.

We did not add the pale make up to her eye area, her darker skin makes the eye socket look more hollow once the area around it is pale

We are using Old Age Cake make up, not white! This shade washes the healthy tones out of the skin, you can still see variation in the skin tone under the make up. It also looks brilliant on black skin.

See our cake make up guidelines

2 Add fangs
Slip your fangs on!  Our range of fangs is incredible.  They are supplied with a product that forms a perfect fit to your teeth.  Once fitted you simply slip the teeth in and out as many times as you like!

Our fangs have easy to follow instructions; you need to mold the teeth beforehand.

3 Optional Steps

Add Lipstick

Shade Eye sockets

Add Eye Accessories

These 3 steps are down to personal choice - you can see in the final look at the bottom of the page Jack has not used eyeshadow, but chose to wear the eye accessories.  Abby left her lips as they were and her eye make up was strong enough.  Remember that there is no right or wrong way.

dirty down your clothing

4 Dirty down clothing
Dirty down the t shirt.  Add as little or as much dirt as you like.  We have used a dirt bag; this is a cosmetic for clothing used in the film industry.

Think about how much dirt you add to your outfit.  If you are attending a party where you might sit on a white sofa then you will need to take care, if you are out trick-or-treating you can go a lot further.

stipple on the blood

5 Stipple blood on
Stipple blood wherever you think it will look good.  We have extended the blood flow down over the neck and onto the t shirt.  If you are going as a couple you can match up the blooded areas (as shown).

For this effect we used a stipple sponge, this remarkable little item draws up enough blood to give a covering but not a solid layer.  The effect is, as you can see, quite gruesome, but you can use3 any sponge or even your fingers.

finshed twilight lookFinished
This look works just as well with a black t-shirt or vest.

Removal:  Simply wash the blood and make up away.
