Our outfits really ARE of the highest quality:  Angels is the world's largest supplier of costume to the film, theatre and television industries.  Established over 170 years ago we have 33 Costume Oscar winning productions under our belt*.  As a customer of Angels Fancy Dress you have the opportunity to hire costumes that have been made and supplied for specific productions over the years.  Our costumes aren't made for fancy dress parties - they are the real deal! 

Not just period costume:  It's not all about period - we have hundreds of costume styles including fantasy; space; animals and mascots - the list goes on and on.  Whatever your theme or occasion, we've got it covered.  Let us help you be whoever you want to be!

Our service is bespoke: If all you need is that finishing touch for your outfit, for example: the perfect coat to be Neo from the Matrix or a top hat and crazy frockcoat to be the Mad Hatter, then we can help.  We are happy to supply as much or as little as you need although we are confident that once you've seen how our costumiers can transform you into something spectacular, the chances are you will go away with more than you thought!   You can always add a wig or make-up from our retail shop to finish the whole thing off.

Our Resources:   We have a huge warehouse bulging with over 8 miles of costume rails.  The collection spans all eras as well as covering fantasy, sci-fi, animals, food and novelty.  Our expert staff are vital to what we do ensuring that our costume hire service is unique.

So... how does the Angels Costume Hire service work?

Start with a little inspiration... Our Costume Hire section shows hundreds of examples of costumes that we have put together to give you an idea of what is available.
Our vast collection hangs on 8 miles of railing.  Costumes are styled for you individually, making it impossible to show you all of the combinations possible.  The images online are only a guide to what can do.
To get your own personal look, all you need to do is to speak with one of our trained costumiers at our Shaftesbury Avenue Shop and they will then style a costume for you to your measurements.  Subject to size and availability, it will be as similar as possible (if not even better) to the image you have chosen on our website.

Costs and length of hire: Hire prices range from £25 for single items to full costumes from £96.  This is generally more expensive than some of our retail items but as these costumes form part of our film/theatre/TV stock they are of a much higher quality and the choice available is incomparable.  As importantly, you can guarantee that no-one else will be wearing the same outfit!

Some of our more unique costumes are more expensive to hire including Spacesuits, Mascots and Uniforms but please do call us and we can give you the information you need.
Costumes are hired on a minimum one week hire basis giving you time to come in, play dress-up, hire your outfit, take it with you and then party without having to rush straight back after the event.
Payment of costume hire is by cash/credit/debit card only.  As well as the hire charge itself, you will need to leave a deposit against the costume you take.  This is made by credit/debit card only (we are unable to accept Visa Electron, Solo cards or cash) and secures against any loss, damages or late return.  Payment of the deposit is not processed but is taken as an imprint of your card.  Provided the costume is returned in good condition and on time, card details are then destroyed. We no longer accept cheques as any form of payment.

A flexible approach. If you need your outfit for longer than a week or can't get the costume back on it's due date then call the store as soon as possible and speak with our returns department to find out what fees apply.

Want a fabulous costume but can't get in to the store?  Our bespoke service really does need to be experienced in person to get the most out of it and to guarantee the best fit, but if you really can't come in and see us then of course we can send a costume to you.  To start the process you will need to call us or contact us by email.  As costume hire is a bespoke service it can't be done directly through the website as we will need to send you a hire agreement.  If you can't come in to the store, you should allow plenty of time for this process, three working days is best.

If you have an idea of the costume that you'd like, call in or email us your requirements and detailed measurements (see below) and we'll style it for you.  Of course what we can send you will be subject to size and availability but we will always do what we can to put together exactly what you want or if its not available for some reason, the closest possible style to it.
