Handy tip - if the wax looks too rough use a tiny bit of moisturiser on your fingertip (enough to stop the wax sticking to your finger and no more). Run the finger over the rough edges and they will become smooth. Don't be too precise and do not overwork the wax.
Make a cut in the wound using the narrow end of the spatula.
Fill the cut with blood, the bottle has a dropper on it if you gently squeeze the bottle you can 'draw' using the dropper. Our blood is very realistic and second to none. It will run slowly and eventually dry (drying time depends on how much blood you use!) so add only a small amount of blood - you can always add more once it has run its course.
