Pirate Games are a great idea for children of all ages, they become much funnier when the same game is played by really big children (that be grown-ups!) using the same rules, except for the addition of a bottle o’ rum!

Pin The Patch on the Pirate

This is a twist on an old classic party game.  The image of our pirate skull has had his patch removed; you can see what is on his mind and that is Girls!   We have made the image downloadable, print it off and cut out the eye patch.

Add a little blu-tac to the patch and laugh at your guests as they try to place it perfectly.  There are 19 Girls in our Pirate's eye, you give each player a point for every girl that is left showing, the winner is the one with the lowest points!

Download the PIN THE PIRATE PDF then you can print the image and get practising!

Download is 888KB, and is an A4 pdf.

Peg Leg race

This is a Pirate version of the well known three-legged race.  Get your runners to team up together (naturally in full Pirate Fancy Dress!), use a strip of red fabric to tie their legs together, ‘twll look like m’Pirate scarf, Arr, Arr!  The winner is the first pair across the finishing line.

Captain Dead Eye

A great game for Ghostly Pirate themed parties. One volunteer is sent out of the room. Whilst they are out of the room you explain to the other guests that you are playing a trick on your volunteer! When you are ready you bring in your blindfolded victim, they are introduced to Captain Dead Eye (volunteer two). Using one of the victim's fingers you say "this is Captain Dead Eye's mouth", then you trace the outline of volunteer 2's mouth. "This is Captain Dead Eye's nose;" (you get the idea) and go through various parts of the face. Then you ask if they know why Captain Dead Eye has such a funny name... Take their finger and stick it in half a grapefruit!

Treasure Hunt

Hide bags of chocolate money around your party venue (avoid hiding the chocolate near the heating or in direct sunshine), wait until the party is in full swing and announce the Treasure Hunt.  Let your guests know which rooms are included in the Hunt (or if outside you will need to set limits) and also let them know how many bags full of Pieces O’Eight there be!

Cutlass 'n' Coins

This is our Pirate version of the egg and spoon race.  You will need a bag of chocolate coins and a Pirate Cutlass.  Line up your runners at the start line; each Pirate has a Cutlass with 10 coins stacked in one column at the end of the blade.  You have the runners go over an obstacle course.  If they drop any of the coins they have to return to the start, re-stack all the coins and then start again.  The winner is the first over the finishing line with all their coins in place.

If you be hav'in better games let us know... back to Pirates
